Title: Apocalypse
Author: [personal profile] iamshadow
Fandom: White Collar
Pairings: Gen, canon pairings (Neal/Sara, Elizabeth/Peter)
Rating: G
Word Count: 1,160
Summary: There are moments when a person's true nature, character or intentions shine through, darkly or brightly. An observer or someone self-aware will be able to see these moments in others or in themselves. Here are four moments from Season Four where Neal saw something true that had been hidden below the surface in those around him or in himself.
Content: Friendship, daddy issues, episode/season arc reaction, implied past child abuse/domestic violence (off-screen, non-graphic).
A/N: When I got my [community profile] trope_bingo card I looked at the AU: apocalypse square with a bit of a side-eye, since End of Days fics tend to be brutal and grim and not the kind of thing I can read or write a lot of the time. But then I looked up the actual definition of apocalypse, and found out that the original meaning in ancient Greek was about discovery and finding something hidden, and after finishing up watching Season Four finally, I had some ideas about what I wanted to write. So, rather than a subversion of the End of Days trope, this is a subversion of the actual meaning of the word apocalypse back to the original, and it's not an AU of White Collar canon at all, at least, not until Season Five starts to air and josses it. Word definition thanks to Wikipedia, because that's good enough for me.

Pairing(s): Some Sara/Neal, but mostly a character study
Notes: Written for [community profile] not_primetime. The bits about Sara graduating magna cum laude from Smith and getting her Masters from Yale were taken from [personal profile] sahiya. Also, I wrote this before 4x04 aired, and I somehow managed to get the name of Sara's sister right. I have psychic powers.

Title: Accessory
Author: [personal profile] veleda_k
Wordcount: ~9800
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Sara, Neal, Peter, Mozzie, Diana
Pairing(s): Sara/Neal
Prompt(s): I've greyed out the prompt, not because it's triggery or squicky, but because it gives away a little more of the story than I'd like. AU: Neal is a world renown art thief of Gordon Taylor level, Sara is his secret partner in crime and lover. Peter is trying to catch them..
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings, for [livejournal.com profile] sheenianni. A million thank yous to [livejournal.com profile] dmk0064 and [personal profile] sahiya for betaing.
Summary: AU. Even years later, Sara couldn't explain why she did it. Maybe it was the risk, or the the thrill. Maybe she had been testing him. Maybe she had been testing herself. Or maybe she had simply been tired of being good instead of happy.

[personal profile] veleda_k
For [community profile] month_of_meta I wrote up an examination of the way the women of white collar are written, and how the show deals with gendered tropes.

White Collar is one of my very favorite shows. And one the reasons I love it so much is its varied cast of interesting and awesome women characters. In this piece (one couldn't really call it an essay), I'll discuss how the women of White Collar are written as individuals as well as the way the writers address gendered tropes. Expect this to spoil all the way through the end of season three.
